Bouldering is now recognised as a sport in its own right and bouldering walls are increasing in number and popularity, attracting people of all ages and abilities.
Bouldering walls offer low level climbing without the need for personal safety equipment (e.g. a climbing harness). They are typically between 4m and 4.5m in height and have specialist safety matting underneath to cushion any impacts. They are perfect for developing skills and techniques in a challenging but safe environment.
As with climbing walls and caving systems, bouldering walls can be designed in a variety of ways to suit your space and budget. They can contain both natural profile characteristics (for example slabs, vertical walls, overhangs, roofs, cracks and flakes) and innovative or novel shapes such as pyramids, domes and barrels.
The advantage of a bouldering wall is there is no need to have a high space and it doesn’t have to be large to offer a variety of challenging routes. Bouldering walls work well alongside roped climbing walls to offer a variety of challenge. Volumes
Hangfast produce a fabulous array of volumes to give your climbing walls an extra element of interest and challenge.
Our domed volumes add an extra textural element to any bouldering wall. They come in 3 sizes with 2 depths to choose from (shallow or deep). There are also 6 fantastic triangular shapes, all of which will add an extra challenge to test the climber and give them an obstacle they must traverse.
For further interest we can add pockets, bulges, t-nuts or flat spots.
